It is located in the Ulta valley next to the Punta Ol\u00edmpica Pass, near the tunnel of the same name (4768 meters above sea level) from which it can be observed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El Mateo is one of the most accessible peaks in the Cordillera Blanca, since it can be reached by car to the base of the mountain. However, climbing does offer a challenge for those who love adventure, since it requires some previous experience. With moderate slopes of rock, snow and \/ or ice (45 \u00b0), some sections can be a bit more complex than others, so you should always be accompanied by a specialized guide.
